| Contents: Maintenance Day New Payment System Torquay Air Show Sunday Quiz 2 Rope Purchase Offer Another successful Maintenance Day! Thanks to all those who gave their support on the recent Maintenance Day. The majority of jobs we had planned were successfully completed. A general tidy up of the clubhouse (outside & in), strimming of the area, repair & refurbish of the outdoor furniture, pontoon cleaned & floats cleared of barnacles, window guards removed and repainted, plus numerous other tasks. One of the flower beds was at the point of collapse, so we managed to locate a replacement which is now in situ and newly planted. All the flower beds were given a fresh coat of white paint, kindly supplied by Martin Shawe. A big thanks to Sue Mansfield for the banana cake and also to Suzy who supplied the excellent chilli con carne & baked spuds. Not forgetting Ray who generously supplied and then forced us to drink beer! MemberMoJo Payment System For Club Subs The new payment system has proved to be a resounding success with the majority of members electing to pay using the PayPal facility. Some members preferred to pay using Cash/Cheque/BACS and the new system handled these payments effortlessly. This has consequently greatly reduced the workflow for our hard-working Club Treasurer as the system automatically generates reminder emails for those who have still yet to pay. The engine store accounts are now also part of the new system. At a cost to the club of £30 per year, (up to 100 members) this is proving to be a worthwhile investment. Don’t forget, you can manage your own contact details on your profile page. You may notice I have added a login button on most site pages to enable you to go straight to your profile. Torquay Air Show This event is on 1st & 2nd June and it looks as though the weather may be ideal to take your boat over as we are expecting a heatwave on Saturday. As long as the wind plays ball, it should be perfect. |
