Jeanneau Merry Fisher 695 For Sale
A great opportunity to purchase the fisherman’s favourite, a 2005 Merry Fisher 695! I’ve owned the boat for the last 6 years, which has been annually serviced by Teign Marine (Riverside Boatyard, Teignmouth). It features the sought-after Volvo Penta TAMD31P 150hp diesel engine with shaft drive. Typical annual servicing costs around £150. Jeanneau changed the 695 to the 160hp version in 2006 which featured more electronics (more things to go wrong!) so servicing of the TAMD31P is much simpler and cost-effective and therefore no need for expensive computer diagnostics. It also features an automatic engine bay fire extinguisher.
The boat also features a bathing platform taking the overall length to approximately 25’, with fold down swim ladder, enabling much easier access to the boat when on a swinging mooring. It’s also useful to fish from or store a livewell/coolbox etc.
The boat has large cleats and a safety rail forward. Windscreen wipers port & starboard are a really useful standard feature. With the large windows all round, visibility when manoeuvring is excellent, and the boat is easily handled solo.
There’s a separate sea toilet in the bow with roof hatch. There is also a full green cockpit cover which I’ve never used, but has been stored safely in the dry at home. (Please see pic attached from the previous owner). The cockpit features 2 folding bench seats and a table on a pedestal, which are stored in the large cockpit lazarette which also has room for the fenders and spare 20 litre diesel can (full). The main 130 litre diesel tank is also sited here as well as an emergency tiller.
As well as the 2 standard rod holders in the gunnels, I’ve fitted 2 RAM balls which hold another 2 (supplied) rod holders.
The wheelhouse canopy extends out into the large self-draining cockpit which has a pair of twin LED’s to light the cockpit in the evening.
A very useful addition I have made is the seawater deck wash. Great for removing all trace of fish after a day out. The self-draining cockpit makes this an easy task.
The cabin has a fold out table that converts to a single bed plus the starboard side making it into a double. I’ve never used the bed facility as I prefer to store my gear in the cabin. Lots of cushions with storage underneath. There are twin seats at the helm, underneath are to be found the engine & leisure batteries. Opposite is a sink and camping stove plus storage underneath. Although there is a fresh water storage bag in the engine bay, I prefer to bring bottled water for making hot drinks aboard.
The wheelhouse features a sliding door so no matter what the weather throws at you, it will remain nice and warm inside. A fire extinguisher and new fire blanket are sited in the wheelhouse.
The boat has a Lewmar electric winch, which I’ve never used as I’ve always preferred the Alderney Ring method of anchoring which is so much quicker and easier when moving around multiple fishing marks.
The boat also benefits from Bennett Trim Tabs which are very useful for keeping the nose down when travelling in a heavy chop and help the boat to carve through the waves with very minimal slamming. No matter how nasty the weather turns, the boat gives you the confidence to get home safely. Check the video link to see the boat out in a swell.
She has been completely cleaned throughout and anti-fouled for the new season including new anodes on the trim tabs, skeg & stern. I’ve also included a new camping stove for that essential cup of tea when out fishing and a spare pair of new windscreen wipers and Volvo twin engine fan belts.
A 12v Fridge keeps your beer cool and a Sony CD/Radio system is installed as standard.
Electrics include a Furuno colour plotter/sounder plus a Garmin fishfinder and a NASA Marine SX35 DSC radio.
Although the boat is capable of 20 knots when freshly anti-fouled, cruising speed is best around 11/15 knots and will give better economy from the 130litre tank.
The boat is ready for viewing ashore in Teignmouth and any marine survey is more than welcome. Please feel free to contact me for any details I may have missed above.
Viewing is by appointment only, as the boat is presently in a secure boatyard.
Priced at £32,000, she is ready to go for the upcoming season.
