1st Friendly Boat Fishing Competition – 2019

If you’ve arrived at this page then you are obviously interested in joining us in our first friendly fishing competition. On this page you will find information about rules, prizes and suggested dates of when to hold the comp.

PLEASE NOTE: We will only go out if the weather conditions are favourable, as we want this to be an enjoyable experience for all the competitors.

Peter Willis has done the hard work and worked out the best times & dates to hold the comp., based on high water times.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE USE THE COMMENTS BOX AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE TO INDICATE WHETHER YOU REQUIRE TO FISH ON SOMEONE ELSE’S BOAT, OR IF YOU ARE BRINGING YOUR OWN, IN WHICH CASE CAN YOU LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE EXTRA PASSENGER(S).

Suggested Dates in July

Please select your preferred date then press ‘SUBMIT’. To select more dates, just hit the ‘BACK TO POLL’ button and repeat as many times as you wish.

Rules

No Fishing before or after the stated times shown above.
Any Bait / Lure / Feathers can be used.
The following fish size limits must be adherd to – we will have to provide some form of measuring device to each competitor, e.g. Paper tape measure, piece of pre measured string etc.
Mackerel – 30cm / 12”
Bass – 42cm / 16”
Dogfish – 46cm / 18”
Garfish – 38cm /15”
Gurnard – 28cm / 11”
Smoothhound – 51cm / 20”
Plaice – 28cm / 11”
Skate /rays – 41cm / 16” ( wingspan )
**** Final weigh in of fish, deadline is 1hr after the fishing time, this gives time to get boats back on their moorings. *****

Prizes

4 Prizes for the heaviest of the following species – Bass, Mackerel, Dogfish and the heaviest of any other species.
Competition fee – £2 per entrant, or £3 if not many attend ? (To be decided).
Payout – 4 x prizes of £10 each (Again we will decided the prize payouts based on the number of anglers taking part).
Each competitor can only win one of the prizes.
